Domain Setup Checker
Check DNS resolution and HTTP responses to troubleshoot domain connections and website launch issues.
CreditsAbout Domain Setup Checker
Combine domain DNS queries with HTTP and HTTPS probes before a site goes live. Review address records, reachability, redirect behavior and the page title to isolate common connection problems.
When to use this tool
- Check a domain after switching hosting providers.
- Diagnose a reachable DNS address with an inaccessible website.
Limits to know before using it
Probes originate from this service, so VPN-only or private sites may be unreachable. This is not a full TLS security scan or a global DNS propagation test.
Data handling and cost
The submitted target and parameters are sent to the server for processing. Job inputs and results can be stored as part of the service workflow; the tool uses a session to associate jobs and credits with you. See the privacy policy for details.
Each successful run uses 1 credit. Guest trials depend on your available allowance; register or sign in when it runs out. Failed jobs follow the service refund rules.
Frequently Asked Questions
It inspects address and selected DNS records, makes HTTP and HTTPS requests, and reports reachability, response status, redirect behavior and page title where available. It is not a full TLS security or www-versus-apex audit.
The checker uses public DNS resolvers and makes HTTP requests from our server. If your domain uses split-horizon DNS, is behind a VPN, or is only accessible from certain networks, it may appear unreachable from our infrastructure.
DNS Lookup focuses on record values and per-type lookup errors. Domain Setup Checker adds HTTP/HTTPS probes and interprets basic DNS and page responses in the context of a website launch.
